A book titled “Irony of Change, Reflection of a Youth Leader” launched

Mr Prosper Hoetu, an Author, has called for the strengthening of the National Youth Authority to help facilitate youth development in the country.
He said considering the recent youth uprising across the world, “we can no longer disregard the importance of youth development in Ghana.”
Mr Hoetu said these during the launch of his book titled: “Irony of Change, Reflection of a Youth Leader,” in Accra.
The book discussed the complexity of youth leadership and is also a socio-political commentary on university education and youth development in the country.
The 150-page book also discussed the relationship between student leaders, politicians and school authorities while advocating for the use of non-violence and non-confrontational approaches in resolving student problems in educational institutions.
Mr Hoetu said his book seeks to promote patriotism through a campaign for attitudinal change as a key to national development.
He appealed to the authorities to address the challenges facing the young generation, adding that the country could achieve great results when it involves the youth in its policies and programmes.
Mr George Sarpong, Executive Secretary of National Media Commission, who reviewed the book, said the content of the book was well arranged with useful introductory summaries to each chapter.
Mrs Sedina Tamekloe Attionu, National Coordinator National Youth Authority, recommended the book to all young leaders in the quest for leadership.
She said government sees youth development as essential for the growth and development of the state, hence the introduction of the youth policy.
Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister of Information, expressed the hope that the book would shape the opinion, views and perceptions of student leaders.
